My tradional media journey continues!
This week the main online course I booked started. It's "Modern Mixed Media" with Laura Horn. I also got her "Sketchbook Sanctuary" class and it has been great.
One of the main things I always struggled with was to begin any step in my digital art. Whether it was doing the sketch, the line art or actually colouring it. I always needed to push myself to start. And I rarely just played around - the perfectionism runs deep. 🙂
But the last two weeks I have been surprinsingly relaxed about working in my sketchbooks. I see flaws pretty much in everything I create, but now I just shrug and focus on the good parts or learnings. It's been a long time since I so easily gave myself permision to be in a fun, imperfect learning space.
I got quite a few new supplies and have been swatching and experimenting. The best give-away I'm onto something? I feel I want to work on bigger sizes. I usually felt intimidated by going larger, now I end up wishing for more space. Very exited to go for the more finished pieces during the class.
